Permanent striping to come for Main Street project
BOZEMAN— As soon as weather permits, the final touch to Bozeman’s
new look for Main Street will be completed with final paint striping at the intersections. The impact on Main Street access
is to be expected.
Some closures will be necessary during the painting, but the public should
be aware that crews will be at work in the downtown area some time in the next week. The road surface must be dry enough for
the striping, so rain will affect the work schedule.
“We can’t be sure when we’ll have the right combination of
warm and dry,” said project manager Jackie Flikkema of Knife River Corporation. “When we’re ready to start,
we’ll try to get the word out on the radio and the web site.”
The major work to renovate Main Street intersections took place during a six-month
construction project that ended in October. The project contractor made the decision to leave permanent striping until this
spring to achieve the best quality result.
“This is the last touch-up that will complete the beautiful new look
for Bozeman’s Main Street,” said Flikkema. For more information or answers to specific questions, visit www.jtlbelgrade.com or call Jackie Flikkema at (406) 388-4035, ext. 103.
